Xiaomi India President Denies Layoff Claims

Muralikrishnan B stated that restructuring is necessary to align the company’s strategic objectives, however, the rumours about firing are completely false

President of Xiaomi India, Muralikrishnan B has denied the rumours suggesting lay off of employees. He addressed the concerns of the declining market and the need for reorganisation and operational efficiency while stating the company’s focus is on profitability. 

The rumours suggested that the company is planning to reduce its headcount by approximately 1,000 employees. It further suggested that 30 employees have already been laid off and more layoffs are being planned. However, Muralikrishnan denied all such claims. 

Speaking to a media house, he mentioned that even though restructuring is important and necessary to align the company’s strategic objectives, the rumours about firing are completely false and that the company is focused on clarity of roles to deliver better. 

Muralikrishnan has worked towards expanding Xiaomi’s presence in the offline retail sector. His continuous efforts towards enhancing retail margins and maintaining pricing consistency are aimed towards the interest of the organisation.
