Twitter To Reduce Parental Leaves From 20 Weeks To 14 Days

The microblogging platform has been hailed by its employees for the generous 20-week parental leave it offered for parental care.

In a bid to cut down costs and make Twitter profitable, the Elon Musk-run company has announced that it is contemplating a major change in the paid parental leave policy for its employees.

The microblogging platform has been hailed by its employees for the generous 20-week parental leave it offered for parental care. However, the company is looking to overhaul the practice and is looking to cut down the benefit to two weeks subject to local and regional laws.

It was earlier reported that Twitter has laid off 1500 employees as part of its cost-cutting and resource optimisation measures.

With the policy change on maternity leaves likely to happen, Twitter joins the league of companies like Google that are assessing the cost of employee perks and benefits and taking a decision on the not-so-necessary expenses for the company.
