The New Industrial Policy Of Kerala Focuses On Upgrading Skill 

The new policy has the vision to make youth competent enough for the industrial revolution 4.0

Kerala has unveiled the draft industrial policy that aims to generate more jobs and nourish talent, the policy mainly emphasises upgrading the skills of the youth of Kerala so that they are ready for the jobs offered by the industries of the future. The industrial policy is also targeting to provide technical knowledge to the youngsters of the fourth industrial revolution. The new industrial policy will be released in January 2023 and will come into effect from 1 April 2023.

Minister for Industries, Law and Coir P. Rajeeve addressed this new policy to be would aim to tap the strengths of the State and foster investments in sunrise sectors. He further added “We will play to our strengths and see wherever we can utilise our production capabilities to manufacture in Kerala. We will focus on our core strengths and aim to promote employment generation,” The minister assured that the draft policy will be shared with the stakeholders within 10 days, and inputs would be taken from industry bodies and others before finalising the policy. The priority industries that will be identified in the draft industrial policy are electronic system design, space sector, Ayurveda, biotechnology, artificial intelligence

The new industrial policy is coming with the objective to bring a shift in employment and human resource, it has the vision to make the youth ready for the industrial revolution 4.0.
