Singapore Airlines recently announced historic net profits for the financial year 2022-23.

Factoring the current geopolitical situation, macroeconomic uncertainties as well as high high-cost inflation, achieving disproportionate profit margins is seen as a milestone for the company.

Acknowledging the loyalty and hard work of the employees during the year, especially considering that the aviation sector was recovering from a operational halt due to the pandemic, the company has decided to reward eligible employees with a profit-sharing incentive equivalent to 6.65 months’ pay and a maximum of 1.5 months’ income as an ex-gratia payment.

"Despite the pandemic, the Group remained committed to its longstanding strategy of buying and operating new-generation aircraft. This enables it to drive further operating efficiencies and support ongoing efforts to materially lower carbon emissions. The Group also continued investing in industry-leading products and services to strengthen its premium branding", the company said in a statement.
