If the expected third wave of the pandemic would not give red signals, several global IT companies are planning to reopen India offices and begin operations between January and June, with at least 50 per cent of the workforce back at workstations, for twice or thrice in the week, initially.

Office space management players have shown up a hint that IT giants are keeping a close check on the omicron variant’s impact and are planning to ramp up their operations starting next year.

Considering the effect of the virus seen previously high on people over 50 years of age, companies are specifically calling employees under 45 years following a hybrid work model that offers flexibility in attending offices a few days a week.

As the IT sector registered a sharp boom in the sector, various companies have expanded globally during the pandemic. The increased workforce has different requirements that need to be addressed and hence companies need more space to manage their talent strength.

The call for back-to-office has happened even at the beginning of the year 2020 but then the second wave came up forcing companies to resist and keep following work-from-home policy. Now, the organisations are concerned and are under the Omicron variant's threat.
