MDI Society is in the process of major restructuring and overhaul of governance, scope of activities, vision and mission of its Institutions. Accordingly, MDI Gurgaon aspires to be among the top five management schools in the country by NIRF rankings and mark its presence in the global top seventy schools by 2028. 

The MDI Society is looking for a passionate, dynamic and well established academic leader who will drive the Institute as its Director for the next 5 to 10 years to reach these goals by achieving excellence in research, teaching, public policy and advisory works. The Director is expected to scale up the activities both domestically and internationally with the help of the Board to emerge as a noteworthy global player.

The Eligibility Criteria:

1. Demonstrated academic excellence in terms of qualifications in fields related to management from a reputed School, high standard research publications and national/international academic recognition;

2. Experience of at least 15 years in Research, Industry and/or Teaching at 

Post-Graduate level out of which at least 5 years should be at the pay-level 

equivalent to a Professor or higher;

3. Experience of successfully guiding at least 2 students for Doctorate Degree from a recognized University/Institution, or lead at least two internationally funded research projects;

4. Would preferably not be above 60 years of age as on 16th January, 2021 and willing to take up the job on a contract of five years to begin with; 

In addition to the above, the candidate for the post should ideally have the following attributes:

1. International exposure as a student, Faculty, Member of the Boards of Institutions/Corporations, executives or senior Officers of International Organizations; 

2. Experience of interface with domestic Industries or service sector companies as a member on their Board of Directors, or with government policy committees or commissions as a member or chairman;

3. Should be willing to accept the pay package consisting of two components 

– a fixed salary at the level of Secretary to the Government of India with perks and the second component based on performance of Faculty and the Institute. For a performing Director, total earnings could be higher than the market.

For exceptionally competent candidates, the Search cum Selection Committee may relax some of the above criteria for consideration.

The selection process consists of a detailed scrutiny of applications/CVs of candidates by a Search Committee to prepare a short-list by 25th January 2021. 

These 5-7 short-listed candidates will then be invited to have interaction with the Search-cum-Selection Committee around 8-10 February 2021. The selected candidate is expected to join as soon as possible, but not later than 15th May 2021.
