Unemployment rate for 4 October rose to 6.98% comparing to 6.67% in September, according to latest data by Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy CMIE unemployment rate in urban areas decline even though there is a rise in joblessness rate on a national level. The rural areas saw a big rise in unemployment. The rural unemployment rate rose from 6.9% in October from 5.86 percent in September the urban unemployment in decline from 7.1% in October 8.45% in September.
If we compare the states, Haryana has the highest unemployment rate of 27.3% followed by Rajasthan 24.1 % and J&K 16.1 %.
CMIE data set implementation of project for worth 98 lakh crore stall during first nine months of 2020 .it also reported that 9.2 lakh crore worth of project work also revived during the same period.
674 projects worth rupees 9.7 lakh Crore were stalled because of lockdown during Jan-March Quarter. These were predominantly in March, reported in July by CapEx, CMIE service that tracks initiation implementation and completion of capacity expanding projects.
CMIE reported, other 6200 crore worth of projects were stalled in April to June of this fiscal year.
Over 6.6 million white collar professional jobs or lost from made till August 2020 according to the report by CMIE in September. People rendered jobless because of COVID-19 pandemic comprised of engineers, teachers, physicians, and accountant among others. 1.21 million salary jobs were lost in April due to lockdown. According to the report the recovery in most of the jobs was seen by August but conditions of some professions deteriorated.
