Goldman Sachs has promoted 35 executives to managing director (MD) in its Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Mumbai offices. These individuals will be promoted to MD positions on 1 January 2024, the start of the company's fiscal year. The 2023 batch of promotions to the MD level in India is the highest ever, according to a statement released by the US-based financial services and investment organisation. This is due to the firm's increased investment in the country, as well as India's influence and contributions to businesses around the world.

There were four promotions in the Mumbai office, 26 in Bengaluru, and five in Hyderabad. Women account for approximately 17 per cent of those in positions of authority. During the 2021 MD promotion cycle, the company promoted 29 managing directors in India.

In 2023, 608 people were promoted to MDs worldwide, with women accounting for 31 per cent of those promoted. This is the highest proportion of women in this class ever. There will be 2,775 MDs in total, accounting for 6 per cent of all employees worldwide. Goldman Sachs employs 45,900 people worldwide. India would have 92 managing directors, including the new ones. Around 8,000 personnel are stationed in India.
