Goa Government to Restart Hiring and Infrastructure Works.

A new Office Memorandum issued by Goa State Government for Government Departments asking them to resume contractual recruitment and infrastructure work with effect from December 1st. This move will provide jobs to 10,000 people.

The curb will stand withdrawn from any expenditure destruction from 2nd December. This decision was taken due to a surge in economic activities after lifting of lockdown restrictions.

The GST collection for the state in October stands at rupees 311 crores, nearly matching the amount of previous year. Factors that contributed to the decrease in GST compensation gap is periodic release of funds and revival of tourism in the state.

With the release of this Memorandum respective Government Departments will take up Infrastructure projects particularly those initiated earlier. The department that want to take a work will have to get a special permission.

There are about 1,400 vacancies in account and 1200 police departments. Vacancies also exist for nurse in health department and for the post of lower division clerk (LDC)

Total workforce of the state government is 65,000 employees in both autonomous and semi-autonomous divisions.
