Air India Express Crew Members Allege Mental Harassment

Senior Cabin crew members of Tata-owned Air India Express (AIX) have made serious allegations about the airline's management practices. Alleging a serious code of conduct breach, the cabin crew members have sought the Union Civil Aviation Ministry's intervention in the matter. 

From curtailed contracts to mental harassment, a letter sent to the authorities claims numerous instances of mismanagement in the organisation. Recalling one of the instances, the letter mentions that one of the members of the cabin crew assessment team was asked about their complexion, language and accent. The letter also alleges that the performance of the female colleague was questioned after her resumption of work after maternity leave.

The letter also suggested irregularities in recruitment and promotions by COO Pushpinder Singh.

“It is very shocking to know that under TATA banner Air India Express COO Capt. Pushpinder Singh running this organization as his own whims and fancies. Pilot recruitment, Promotion etc. handling comes under him and he is misutilising the authorities in a corrupted way, the letter says.
