Winning Stroke: Interview With Tiesta Duggal, CEO, Navyam

"I believe a mix of both is very important! Working hard towards your goals, striving to become more successful and then allowing the universe to create its magic."

?

If not in the current profession, you would be?

Since I was always passionate about working with people, if I had to choose another profession it would have been working as a Career counsellor and mentor which I started my profession as would have been working with kids across various schools to support them in finding their right path!

One tune you always hum?
Music has a very beautiful impact on our mindset and helps us relax and connect to ourselves! My two favourite tunes would be Riptide by Vance Joy and Sky full of stars by Coldplay!

One book to read when you want to motivate yourself?
There are a few to be honest! The first book that I read in the spiritual field that changed my game was you can Heal Your Life by Louise L Hay. Some of my others are Dying to be me by Anita Moorjani and The Shift by Dr Wayne Dyer.

One dialogue of a movie that motivates you or you like the most?
A dialogue that always remains with me from the movie Jobs based on the life of Steve jobs which was- “only the ones who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do”

The place you have never been to and always want to go?
Even though I have been fortunate enough to get to travel to a number of countries I have always wanted to travel to Mexico and experience the wellness and relaxation there.

An animal that signifies you & why?
My soul animals are cats! I love how their energies are so complete in themselves and know how to care for their own selves no matter what!

A Movie Character you most resemble or resonate with?
Highly resonate with Katrina Kaif from Zindagi na Millegi doobara and her ideology about living life to the fullest every moment!

If your life was to be turned into a movie, who woulda you like to play your part?
I would love to live the life lived by Julia Roberts and explore life and travel around the world to find a deeper meaning of life and understand myself better!

Luck or Hard Work, what do you think weighs more in defining a successful person?
I believe a mix of both is very important! Working hard towards your goals, striving to become more successful and then allowing the universe to create its magic. And only when we put in the hard work is when we can expect the luck to turn into our stride thus it’s about taking the first steps and also allowing destiny and luck to work for us.

One best decision you ever made?
I believe one of the best decision in my life was to decide to follow my passion and become a life coach! Even though I was always passionate about working towards a cause I was working following the regular path of working in the corporate environment and family business but deciding to quit that to follow my dreams was the most liberating and empowering decision.

A strategy that you always use to take your decisions in Personal or Professional life?
Every decision you make in your life has an impact on more than one sphere of your life! The strategy I believe in taking the decisions is always writing down the pros and cons, giving it time to evaluate and think and also weigh the outcomes and consequences and then take them!

Whose advice do you seek when in a dilemma?
My father and my husband because that gives me two different perspectives from two generations and also helps me understand their varied experience and point of view!

What has been your biggest achievement? One thing that you want to change in yourself?
My biggest achievement has been to overcome the fears and doubts that I battled with in my early 20s and allow myself to become who I am today! And the thing I want to change in myself is to be more proactive in going after my dreams and work harder and move to the next level in striving to achieve my desires!

A line said by your closed one that you never forget
You are way more powerful than the thoughts in your head and the story that makes you believe you cannot achieve what you wish to! Move beyond the story and reach out for your dreams!
