Winning Stroke: In Interview With Deepa Gosh, CEO, Empmonitor

"Hard work in every sense because it's the one’s efforts that define the success, not the luck."

?

If not in the current profession, you would be?
If not in the current profession, I would have been a dentist. Being a doctor is both a blessing and a duty that lasts a lifetime.

One tune you always hum?
Feeling Good - Michael Buble. This song is my all time favorite. It’s very vivid and gives me very optimistic vibes. Whenever I feel low, I tune into this song. It makes me feel fresh, live and positive.

One book to read when you want to motivate yourself?
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. One of the greatest lessons which I learned from it is to embrace the present. How well you dwell and engage yourself in the present will direct your life. We should not be entangled in our past and also we should not be so anxious about the future.

One dialogue of a movie that motivates you or you like the most?
Don't ever let someone tell you, you can't do something. Not even me. You got a dream, you got to protect it. People can’t do something themselves, they want to tell you you can’t do it. You want something, go get it. Period. - The Pursuit of Happiness.

The place you have never been to and always want to go?
I have never been to Antarctica. I like to explore unexplored terrains.

An animal that signifies you & why?
An Animal that signifies me - I would say - An Elephant because they are first of all loyal, secondly they are strong and also they are protective & unstoppable - which clearly defines me.

A Movie Character you most resemble or resonate with?
The Iron Lady. I really liked the character as it is strong, independent and fierce. No matter what happens in life, women should never give up. A woman should be bold and full of confidence to make decisions and make things happen.

If your life was to be turned into a movie, who would you like to play your part?
Natalie Portman or Priyanka Chopra. I really like both the actresses as they are very outspoken, brave and bold. And they both will prove to be perfect fit to play my part.

Luck or Hard Work, what do you think weighs more in defining a successful person?
Hard work in every sense because it's the one’s efforts that define the success, not the luck.

One best decision you ever made?
To take the slow and steady path towards success. I believe that you should work hard and strive for success. It doesn't happens overnight at all. At this stage also, I am still learning and growing every single day.

A strategy that you always use to take your decisions in Personal or Professional life?
Always make your decisions when you are calm. If you are mad or stressed out, you are not in a right position to fix things. When you are calm, you give yourself time, your mind is relaxed, due to which you will be able to take the right decisions.

Whose advice do you seek when in a dilemma?
My husband’s or my father’s. Whenever I am in a dilemma I always discuss things with my husband, and my father. Because first of all I truly believe in them and secondly they help me sort out things really fast by pouring their real thoughts into the situation which is really great.

What has been your biggest achievement?
Being a mother is the greatest achievement of my life. It has taken me on an unexpected trip that never fails to amaze, teach, and puzzle me! My emotional commitment to my child gives me constant pleasure.

One thing that you want to change in yourself?
Eat more healthy and say no to worries and stress.

A line said by your closed one that you never forget?
Tough times never last, tough people do. You have to believe in yourself and keep going. Everything will fall in place one day.
