Striking a perfect work-life balance has always been a challenge for professionals all across the industries. Amidst this ongoing pandemic, the sudden transition to the remote work environment can be daunting and thus finding work-life balance becomes more complicated. Many times, work takes precedence over everything else in our lives. Our desire to excel in our profession compels us to set aside our own well-being. It is essential to create a harmonious work-life balance or work-life integration to not only improve our physical, emotional and mental well-being, but it's also important for professional life as well.
In today’s fast-paced era for an organization to be successful, it is very important to promote the right work-life balance. Thus, it is crucial for human resource professionals to seek options to positively impact the bottom line of their companies, improve employee morale, retain employees with valuable company knowledge, and keep pace with workplace trends.
If we look from an organizations’ perceptive, the companies that are key players in encouraging work-life balance have a stronger employer brand, attract a valuable pool of talent for new job openings and plays a vital role in employee retention programs. However, keeping in mind the current scenario, though, we have managed to get friendly with work from home process and maintaining the team culture through online meet-ups, but still helping employee achieve work-life balance is still a challenge, because it’s difficult to completely detach them from home environment and demarcate between work, home duties and leisure time, especially in case of female employees. We at JK Technosoft, provide our employees with mentorship and flexibility in their work schedule so that they themselves figure out a right balance between their personal and professional life. Moreover, the managers should encourage staff to avail the monthly earned leaves and avoid responding to work-related emails and calls during non-working hours unless it is urgent.
An employer when empowers employees to take control of their work and home lives, it can make a profound impact on their job satisfaction and performance. Employees feel motivated, less stressed and tend to have better relationships with management and co-workers, which ultimately increases company productivity. This also helps in gaining higher employee retention rates and more loyalty.
