upGrad Abroad, the international arm of edtech player upGrad, on Monday said it plans to hire 500 new employees over the next three months.

The company is looking to strengthen its business footprint and drive further growth in various departments, including sales, marketing, technology, and product.

In a statement released on Monday, upGrad Abroad highlighted its focus on recruiting fresh talent directly from college campuses and universities. The move aims to enhance employability and provide young individuals with opportunities for international exposure. The company believes that these new hires will play a pivotal role in realising its mission of facilitating skilled talent mobility across multiple global economies.

Ankur Dhawan, President of upGrad Abroad, emphasised the significance of expanding the team with young professionals who possess a keen interest in gaining international experience.

"We have built a strong business model that minimizes geographical barriers for both our learners and back-end teams. Hence, it's critical for us to onboard more of these young employees who are eager for international exposure and can work in alignment with our brand's mission," he said.

upGrad Abroad said it aims to achieve profitability within the current year and surpass an impressive annual gross revenue of Rs 500 crore during the fiscal year 2023-24. To accomplish these targets, the company is strategically establishing strong business pockets across the country, leading to enhanced operational efficiencies and cost optimization.

Saurabh Deep Singla, upGrad's Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), expressed confidence in the company's growth plans. "We are building strong business pockets across the country to ensure enhanced operational and cost efficiencies," he added.
