Think Culture Foundation, a not-for-profit organization along with Billion Broadcaster Media, has announced the launch of Project Skill++. The project aims to empower Indian youth with soft skills development and help balance technical and soft skills in order to help the country realize its potential in the years ahead.

As part of the initiative, Think Culture Foundation and Billion Broadcaster Media have partnered with different educational institutes and instructors in Delhi NCR. The pilot workshop commenced from School of Law, Ansal University, Gurugram on Nov 7th, 2019. 

As India plans to target $5 trillion economy by 2025, India’s unique talent pool – one billion people of working age by 2027 ‒ will need top-notch skills to match. Through Project Skill++, Think Culture Foundation and Billion Broadcaster Media plans to reach out to several universities and colleges across India in order to provide skill training and help prepare youth for the new job opportunities in the market. 

The aim of Project Skill++ is to help youth develop those skills which are not usually taught in the traditional education system. This includes communication skills, people skills, confidence building, personality development, decision-making skills, teamwork and so on.

The organizers believe that this project is their stepping stone towards initiating a more nuanced project for the youth.  

Cloris Lee, Co-Founder, Billion Broadcaster Media said, “Hard skills like machinery or coding are skills that can be taught and learned. Though these skills help one at their respective jobs, they need to be supplemented with other skills. The “plus plus” in Project Skill++ is about adding soft skills to these hard skills and empowering the youth for better work opportunities in their lives. We are excited to be associated with leading institutes and hope to bridge the gap and help students achieve.”    

Speaking on the initiative, Yan Han, Director, Think Culture Foundation, said, “We are constantly working towards empowering youth and women to bring about a social change. Through Project Skill++, we aim to help youth succeed in their professional as well as personal lives.”
