Tech Mahindra Leaves Decision of WFH or Office To Its Employees

The company has taken all necessary steps to make the workplace safe for the staff, in terms of hygiene, sanitisation and social-distancing norms. The temperatures, blood pressure and oxygen levels of the employees will be checked daily.

Tech Mahindra has decided to let the employees decide either working from home or at the office, as a result of the ongoing pandemic situation.

The Indian multinational technology company is taking into consideration the mental state of its employees amid the uncertainty surrounding the economy has given them the option to either work from home or return to work from the office, whichever mode they are comfortable with.

The company has taken all necessary steps to make the workplace safe for the staff, in terms of hygiene, sanitisation and social-distancing norms. The temperatures, blood pressure and oxygen levels of the employees will be checked daily. It intends to keep a tab on the mood of the employees as well.

Google was the first company to allow its employees to continue working from home until July 2021. Facebook has also allowed its staff to work remotely until July next year and announced a $1000 allowance to fulfil their ‘home office’ requirements. Twitter, on the other hand, has permitted its employees to follow the work from home arrangement permanently, that is, forever! The American software company, Salesforce, which is headquartered in San Francisco, has asked its employees to continue working from home until July 2021.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), one of the first IT multinationals to embrace work from home for its staff in April, has revealed its plans to have 75 per cent of its staff working from home over the next five years!
