Across Indian Institute of Technology IIT online placements have begun.130 job offers, and 276 Pre-Placement Offers PPO were received by students of IIT Kharagpur on the first day. Of them at least 10 PPOs came from Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Doctor Reddy's Laboratory, Tata Steel, MasterCard, and Barclays. 30 companies participated in the first day. More than 2100 students and 200 companies have registered in the first phase of the drive. Offers came from 65% software companies, 25% core companies and 10% consulting firms.

Meanwhile at IIT Bombay 18 companies of a job across sectors on first day of placement. Highest annual package offered was of rupees 46.4 Lakh 

At IIT Roorkee 80 lakh annual domestic package is much higher than the offer of rupees 62.6 lakh. Last year 10 international offers were made on first day itself where 3 international offers came by this year. Microsoft which is known for highest international only offers domestic this year.

IIT Madras 123 job offers from 22 companies much higher than last year. Of them 19 offers came from Microsoft, 12 came from Texas instruments and 10 came from ISRO.

More PPOs were made this year than last year across IITs. IIT Madras accepted 182 PPOs, IIT Bombay accepted 153 offers.
