Soumitra Bhattacharya Set To Retire From Bosch India

A Chartered Accountant by qualification, Bhattacharya started working at Bosch as a General Manager and climbed up the ladder in various capacities in his long and illustrious career.

Soumitra Bhattacharya, President, Bosch India, is set to retire after a 28-year stint at the leading automotive conglomerate.

He took over the role of President of the Bosch Group in India and Managing Director for Bosch Limited in 2017. Prior to that, he was Joint Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer for Bosch Limited.

“The last 28 years at the Bosch Group, including 12 years as a Board member of Bosch Limited, have been amazing and unique, to say the least. What makes this Group stand out is how our founder, Robert Bosch, dedicated 94% of Robert Bosch GmbH’s equity to the Robert Bosch Trust, which continues to serve millions of lives and create a positive social impact”, worldwide, said in his LinkedIn Post.

“My immense gratitude for the Group also stems from the privilege that I have had by working and leading teams in India, Germany and Turkey. The learnings and experiences across 11 different roles in seven different locations with the leadership -- both abroad & in India -- and the Bosch associates, who live by the Bosch values, make this company truly Invented For Life”, he added.

His retirement will be effective on June 30, 2023, and he will be succeeded by Guruprasad Mudlapur, currently, the Joint Managing Director, Bosch Limited and Chief Technology Officer of Bosch India.

While Sandeep Nelamangala, currently, executive Director at Bosch Limited and Executive Vice President, of Mobility Solutions at Bosch India, will be appointed Joint Managing Director of Bosch from July 1, 2023.
