Rapido Temporarily Suspends Its Services

The company announces to operate with a minimal network to support essential services.

As the Indian Government announced a 21-day lockdown in order to contain the novel coronavirus, bike-share mobility company Rapido has decided to limit its services temporarily under further notice. Rapido will be operational with a minimal network of vehicles to support essential services, for hospitals, doctors, nurses, govt. staff, supporting life continuity.

“COVID-19 is a growing pandemic and fighting it is a priority for us at Rapido. After closely monitoring the on-ground scenario, we are temporarily suspending our services. However, we will be operational with a minimal network of vehicles to support essential services, for hospitals, doctors, nurses, govt. staff, supporting life continuity.

'We understand these are challenging times and we are working internally with our city teams to help support the livelihood of our Captains in these difficult times. We are undertaking some positive measures to ensure that the Captains are able to maintain a secure lifestyle during these tough times', Said the company.

'We are already taking measures and precautions to ensure the safety of our Captains from COVID-19. Additionally, we have a group insurance cover worth INR 10 Lakhs for our Captains to shield them from financial burden in case of hospitalization', it added.
