Online Roles In The Education Sector Escalating Rapidly

Naukri.com trend report shows the growing popularity of online and e-learning job roles in India. The platform observed a 4X growth in the demand for professionals for online, e-learning, and remote job roles when compared to 2019 trends. The job listings for work from home roles within the Education sector have also gone up by 3.5X post-pandemic.

The platform also analyzed recruiters search data to showcase the top keywords in the industry. Keywords such as 'Teaching', 'Counselling', 'Training', and 'Subject matter experts' are trending in the pandemic era.

The movement towards online learning has brought advancement in the need for teaching tools to adapt its delivery of study material for students. There is now a boost in recruiter demand for a specific skill called 'Instructional Design' that combines education with technology and communication. The importance of this skill is reflected in recruiter demand with Instructional Design searches up by 112% Y-O-Y growth as of July 20'.

Recruiter demand for skills such as Instructional Design on Naukri indicates that education is moving online, and there is a need for professionals who can develop systems to optimize this shift for teachers and students. The growth of EdTech platforms and increased hiring by these players indicates major reforms in the sector," Pawan Goyal, Chief Business Officer at Naukri.com said.

Top EduTech players have been raising fresh funding from investors, and the expansion of these companies is reflected in their hiring trends as well with players like BYJUs, WhiteHat Jr, Simplilearn and Toppr actively hiring on Naukri. Quite a lot of hiring activity is seen in educational institutions like Podar Education Network, Rustomjee Kerawalla Foundation, Amity University, and even coaching centres such as FIITJEE are offering various positions.

The jobseeker searches on Naukri as reflected in the analysis, show the direct result of a growing EdTech Industry and acceptance of remote working as an aftereffect of the pandemic. Search keywords such as 'Work from Home', 'Online Tutor' and 'Online Teaching' showed exponential improvement in their search rankings. 

Over 1000 new jobs have been added to the Naukri platform in the Education/Teaching sector in July'20. Top six metros contribute to 55% of the jobs in the sector led by Delhi NCR and Bengaluru.

Some key professionals that are in demand in the sector are Teachers, Counselors, Trainers, Lecturers and Professors are some of the key professions in demand within the sector. Teachers currently contribute to 16% of the roles, Counsellors contribute to 19%, and Assistant Professor & Lecturer roles are 20% of opportunities within the Education/Teaching industry.
