Before joining Future Group, Mohapatra was the Regional Head at Mudra Group’s Optimum Media Solutions

BW People has learned that Madan Mohan Mohapatra, Head- Customer Strategy and Business Head, Future Media India Ltd at Future Group has put in his papers. Mohapatra had joined Future Group, one of India’s largest retail chains as Chief of Marketing and has been with the brand for 13 years now. He has finished serving his notice period at the Kishore Biyani-led group.

Confirming the development Madan Mohan Mohapatra tells exchange4media, “I have been wanting to set out on the entrepreneurial journey for quite some time now, in fact, I was actively thinking about it since the Covid-19 induced lockdown first began four months ago. It will take a long while for things to normalize and thus I felt this was a very good time to incubate as opposed to waiting for the markets to re-open fully.”

While Mohapatra strictly rules out returning to the agency space, he was tightlipped on his new venture. Exchange4media reached out to Future Group but didn’t receive a comment at the time of filing the story. Before joining Future Group, Mohapatra was the Regional Head at Mudra Group’s Optimum Media Solutions. He has also worked with other agencies like Starcom MediaVest Group, FCB Ulka etc in his two-decade-long career.
