Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan has revealed that the government plans to ensure that 75 per cent of the jobs in mines and factories in the state goes to local youths. Industries will be able to enjoy state benefits only if they hire 75 per cent locals.
With regards to this certain rules of minor minerals and district mineral foundation, will require amendments. Henceforth, leases of minor minerals will have to offer 75 per cent of the jobs to bona fide residents of MP. Therefore, lease-holders of minor mineral mines will have to mandatorily set aside 75 per cent of jobs for natives of the state.
The MP government plans to establish a separate force to protect and manage mineral resources in the state. The major and minor mineral resources of MP are a prime source of royalty, and the state government wishes to ensure that it is not lost.
Efforts will also be made to obtain 100 per cent royalty of all extracted minerals.
Chauhan also revealed that hiring for state government jobs will begin soon, during the launch of various development projects worth Rs 302 crore. Earlier, in August, the CM had stated that only people of Madhya Pradesh would be able to apply for MP state government jobs.
