Indus Towers

As Alvin Toffler said "The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn and relearn." Here is what Vishal Manchanda has to say about it.

?

Resonating with Alvin Toffler’s thoughts- growth, volatility, change, and disruptive technologies are driving companies to shift their underlying business model. I firmly believe that it is time for the HR teams to address this disruption, transforming itself from a transaction-execution function into a valued consultant that brings innovative solutions. In today’s world, a learning organization needs to be more agile, forward thinking, and aggressive in its solutions and to continually expand its ability to shape future. Creating a continuous learning environment is not a process concern, it is a cultural shift that requires management to actively work towards nurturing a culture of continuous learning across the organization.

The enabler for this change is technology and for successful learning & development it is essential that companies actively explore new approaches to learning & development as they confront increasing skill gaps.

Employees in the Telecom Space work across geographies and operate on a 24/7 basis where flexibility is the need of the hour, to support this, L&D at Indus has evolved to new learning methodologies by leveraging technology. Indus has been a trendsetter in adopting technology, and we are one of the first companies in India to who have moved to the Oracle HR cloud platform.

We have brought learning at fingertips through a revolutionary APP, IndusLearning Channel (ILC)which is hosted both on iOS & Android platforms, and has a web interface as well. The platform is being used to administer online training, assessments, videos & also gauge the reaction, impact and learning through feedbacks, pre-& post training evaluations, self-assessment & manager’s evaluation.

The Indus Learning Channel has taken mobility to another level apart from access to customized courses, the Application helps measure training effectiveness with in depth analyses of all training conducted. Our aim is to measure and understand the impact of the training on the performance of our employees and to fulfill this objective we have adopted the Kirkpatrick Training Effectiveness Measurement Model.

The ILC App helps us reimagine measurement by:

  • Measuring all activities and usage along with Capturing user experience
  • Evaluation of progress reports, scores and feedback in real time

It also helps us understand the impact of our training programs on our people and our business.  Basis this feedback we can refine our offerings on a continuous basis.

Learning today has become business-critical and our purpose is to create an integrated learning ecosystem that accompanies our efforts to create a continuous learning environment. We believe in promoting all round knowledge and skill development for our employees, not only in behavioral aspects but have in our basket of offerings path breaking technical and functional skills workshops as well.

We pride ourselves in the commitment towards employee development, much beyond industry and global averages.  We aim to redefine the telecom landscape of India aiming to achieve socio-economic upliftment through knowledge and skill development at grass root levels.

We have laid the foundation, going forward we intend to provide an environment to our employees that feeds innovation and creativity, implementing a new vision to build a learning experience that touches every employee thus giving us a sustainable competitive advantage/ edge as we build people capabilities.
