In an interaction with Moneycontrol, Apparao said: “Our intent is that we want our employees and our families to be taken care of. But we are still waiting for guidelines from the government on how this can be taken up.”

With the onset of Covid-19 vaccination drive across the country, HCL is one of the many Indian IT firms which has been in c.ose talks to see how quickly its 1.59 lakh employees and their families can get vaccinated, stated VV Apparao, Chief Human Resources Officer(according to Moneycontrol’s source.)

In the same interaction, Apparoa also claimed that, “Our intent is that we want our employees and our families to be taken care of. But we are still waiting for guidelines from the government on how this can be taken up.”

The immunization drive started on January 16, 2021 thus far near 16 lakh have been vaccinated. Medical care experts will be get antibody shots in the main stage followed by cutting edge laborers, for example, military and civil specialists. The third stage will incorporate the individuals who are 50 years or above and those with comorbidities, for example, hypertension and diabetes. 

The organization is working with IT industry body NASSCOM and the Confederation of Indian Industry on getting its representatives inoculated. Apparao clarified that so far there isn't a lot of clearness on how organizations can inoculate their representatives. For example, it isn't clear yet on the off chance that the immunization will be made accessible in the retail market, or if the makers can converse with organizations and give the antibodies required.

Further, vaccination plans are in the works at other IT companies as well, and they are working with associations and government agencies for the same.
