Hennes and Mauritz (H&M) is laying off employees from its production team which handles exports in India.
Because of interruptions of its business due to pandemic H&M lay off tens of thousands of workers worldwide temporarily in March. H&M is also considering terminating some employees due to negative impact of corona situation on the business.
Confirming the layoffs, the company, in an emailed response to a media company, said: “As a result of our restructured organization within our India sourcing entity, around 60 of our colleagues will not continue their journey with us.”
However, H&M is not planning to shut any stores in the country.
