Gender Equality Today For A Sustainable Tomorrow At Policybazaar

In our endeavor to create a diverse and inclusive workplace, Policybazaar has onboarded its very first all-female batch which consists of a 19-member team for the Life Cluster Term Outbound Process that will expand further in size.

Ensuring gender equality and empowerment spans beyond just a dedicated day for women. It takes consistent and persistent efforts throughout to truly leverage the potential of diversity. In our endeavor to create a diverse and inclusive workplace, Policybazaar has onboarded its very first all-female batch which consists of a 19-member team for the Life Cluster Term Outbound Process that will expand further in size. This is not just a standalone initiative, but one of the many to promote equal gender representation in the workplace.

Similar projects are underway wherein two more such all-female teams will be onboarded on March 8th which will also make way for more such future initiatives in PB FinTech. While one 25-member team will be hired for Policybazaar, another 15-member team will be onboarded for Paisabazaar. To achieve the larger objective of creating a more diverse and inclusive workplace, these employees have been hired at an advisor level.

These initiatives are aimed at supporting fair workplace practices and thus, the criteria for hiring these teams is completely unbiased and as per company norms. The process of hiring included two rounds of interviews - one with the operations team head and one with the human resources - which is the standard course of action across the company. The hiring criteria was completely gender-neutral and solely depended on the skills, experience and abilities of the candidates. Right from idea generation to onboarding, the talent acquisition team took care of the end-to-end process without the involvement of HR-Tech.

Besides, Policybazaar is also one of the few companies that are proud to have a good representation of female leadership in the organisation. Women leaders have not only built critical functions from the scratch at the organisation but are also successfully leading those functions today. These departments include Legal Compliance, Life Insurance Business, Corporate Strategy and Investor Relations, and Human Resources. Women leaders have helped transform these verticals in terms of market size and product innovation while being an inspiration to the team members they lead.

This practice trickles down the hierarchy and is evidently visible in the form of a healthy gender ratio across the workforce at PB FinTech. In fact, we have an all-female corporate communications team at Policybazaar. Through an inclusive workplace, we aim to access a bigger pool of talent while ensuring sustainability. It also provides us with the intrinsic capacity to intuitively look at our end consumer outlook.
