K. Sivan, Chairman, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has estimated to create about 15,000 job opportunities with the Indian Human Space Mission.

As per the information, Indian Space Research Organisation has planned to send an Indian in the outer space in the span of 4 years, for the very first time.

Sivan told IANS, “We estimate that the human space mission will generate about 15,000 jobs over the next few years.”

ISRO aims to send Indian astronauts into the outer space to the height of 300-400 km above the Earth and orbit around the planet for about seven days. The organization also mentioned that the astronauts will also be conducting some experiments and the details of the same are yet to be decided and disclosed.

The mission will be in collaboration with many state-run scientific institutions, Industry, academia, and Start-up enterprises.

Sivan added that the human spaceflight will be a national project and not just ISRO’s, as the agency will be collaborating with several institutions, academia, and the industry.

As mentioned by the Cheif of Indian Space Research Organization, ISRO will also be working with the Institute of Aerospace Medicine in Bengaluru for training with the Indian Airforce, which will be responsible for selecting the crew and also with the private sector, who will be involved in research and development.

India has been attempting to reach the space for almost six decades, and now it is foreseen to happen in 2020. It has been almost 60 years after Yuri Gagarin, a Russian cosmonaut who became the first human to travel into the outer space and orbit the earth in 1961.

The US, China, and Russia are the three countries who have launched the manned space flights till now.

This huge leap to space is expected to cost about 10,000Cr, and not only this, Rs.300 Cr have already been spent in developing the technologies for the same.
