The post COVID era poses new challenges for teams and business and called for a deep consideration to reinvent themselves inside out. The company realized that leadership capability wes as important as organization capabilities. Being able to achieve a level of propelling the finest up-skilling strategy for employees gets Axis Bank to win this award of Best Employee Up-Skilling Strategy at the BW HR L&D Excellence Summit and Awards 2021, on 27 February 2021 

At Axis bank, an up-skilling program for employees in the frontline roles was launched called “Go Beyond” aiming to work on the area of mindset, knowledge, skillset and toolset to provide a comprehensive learning module for the participant. 

Considering the importance of cohesion within the organization, leaders at Axis bank have created a strong ecosystem involving HR, Business, Learning and external experts to drive and cascade the learning agenda for the Bank. Keeping the major focus on collaborating, communicating, and jointly crafting key actions based on the strategy. 

By creating the right learning ecosystem, we were able to effectively create much stronger engagement and fast learning loops that helped evolve the program constantly. The strong ecosystem created was pivotal in ensuring higher coverage (attendance) and success (clearing assessment) for the program.

Learning and development interventions were fast-paced in the adoption of Digital platforms to cover 100% of the workforce considering the spread of the employees across the country, it was critical to ensure that all the employees adapt to the new ways of delivery. It was pivotal to recognize the efforts of employees beyond their KRAs and hence the company introduced Rewards & Recognition across the various learning intervention of the learning journey to create the pull effect of learning.

Pacing up with the volatile times; the company immediately shifted focus on up-skilling front-line employees in virtual selling. The needs of customers were equally taken into account and employees were comprehensively trained on helping customers in using digital services of the bank.


Going forward Axis bank ensures to take the learning curve of the organization constantly up as the company has an upskilling strategy that aims at driving the Bank’s overall strategy, covers employees across all levels of the organization, and is agile in nature to quickly navigate through changing times.
