Talent demand dropped by 6 per cent during August 2017, revealed a study by RecruiteX - the recruitment index by TimesJobs. Consulting services was the top hiring sector during August 2017. Automobiles sectors also saw nominal rise in talent demand during the month.

Overall, hiring dropped during August 2017. Key employment sectors and functional areas contributed to the decline in hiring.

IT/telecom and logistics sector posted significant drop in talent demand.  Content, editors and journalism professionals reported rise in talent demand.

Among key locations, tier II locations posted maximum increase in demand. Vadodara was the top hiring location in August 2017. Delhi-NCR was able to sustain the hiring momentum in metros with mere 1 per cent rise in hiring activity in August.

Among states, Gujarat posted 25 per cent rise in talent demand. Hiring dropped across experience categories, with professionals having more than 20 years of experience witnessing highest drop in demand.
