Coca-cola India announces change in it’s communications team

Arpan Basu to lead Corporate Communications of INSWA Business Unit with a direct reporting to Ishteyaque Amjad, Vice-President Public Affairs and Communication, Coca-Cola India and Southwest Asia

Beverage behemoth Coca-Cola India on Wednesday announced a change in its communications team with Arpan Basu leading the INSWA Business Unit (BU) Communications. Prior to his new role, Arpan was working on company’s category communication for building on the company’s positive impact on the eco-system, and leveraging traditional and online news mediums. 

Based out of Gurugram, Arpan will report to Ishteyaque Amjad, Vice-President Public Affairs and Communication, Coca-Cola India and Southwest Asia.

Arpan Basu will take on the new role from Kamlesh Kumar Sharma who has been recently moved to Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages as a chief communication officer after having served as Director, corporate communications and Alliances, at Coca-Cola India Pvt Ltd.

Ishteyaque Amjad, Vice-President Public Affairs and Communication, Coca-Cola India and Southwest Asia said, “Arpan has been entrusted with a responsibility of shaping up company’s narrative and reputation, both internally and externally. He is taking on a responsibility of enhancing Coca-Cola India’s brand reputation at a phase where company is undergoing a transformation. Arpan’s appointment is also a testimony of nurturing our talents and providing them opportunities professional growth.”

 

With work experience spanning 15 years, Arpan has been instrumental in driving Public relations campaigns for brands such as Max Life Insurance and Jubilant Life Sciences Ltd prior to joining Coca-Cola. His work has received many accolades including Certificate of Excellence in Financial PR at the SABRE AWARDS SOUTH ASIA 2014. And was also recognized amongst the top 5 “Outstanding young insurance Executive” in Asia in the “Aeon Benfield Scholarship” conducted by Asia Insurance Review. He holds a master’s in business administration (MBA) degree from the Ohio University and a bachelors in commerce degree from Calcutta University.
