Bolo Indya To Hire Indian Workforce Hit By Chinese App Ban

Homegrown short video platform, Bolo Indya, is looking to ramp up its team by recruiting people from the talent pool hit by the Chinese apps ban in India including Bytedance platforms like Tiktok and Helo. The hiring would be across domains including business development, user engagement, product management, community management, content strategy, content moderation functions. Besides this, the company is also looking at filling various VP and AVP level positions to expand its leadership team.

Prior to this, the company had already confirmed  that it is in advanced talks to raise fresh finding which shall be utilized to ramp up the team by close to 100% besides utilizing funds to bolster Bolo Meets platform, increase penetration and introduce interactive tools to strengthen its content commerce and content monetization capabilities.

 Bolo Indya in the past also has been giving preference to the people from the same breed. Close to 40% of its current workforce comes from competitive brands such as Roposo, ShareChat, Tiktok, Likee, VMate, Shareit,  Bigolive etc.

To further enhance the platform’s personalization and recommendation engine and predictive analytics capabilities, the company is looking to ramp up the team's strength to complement the growth. Bytedance slashing its workforce amid the TikTok ban in India has put more than 2000 jobs at risk. However, homegrown Indian startups in the field of social media have come into prominence and are attracting talents.
