Balancing a successful career with committed motherhood is for sure no easy task to pull off. An interesting discussion with Puniti .

With over 7 years in the corporate industry, Puniti is an expert when it comes to beauty. She has undertaken many assignments including Photoshoots, Fashion Shows, and Launches during her experience in the corporate industry. After a considerable time in the corporate industry, she decided to start her own luxury Salon, 7 Shades

She is ambitious and has set her priorities straight. Her ambition is to give a personal touch to whatever she puts her hand on.  Puniti has always focused on quality, and in 7 Shades too, her main aim is to give a personal touch to her every client and let people experience quality. She is an independent ambitious woman, working hard to do something she loves. She has a natural ability to make clients not only look beautiful but feel beautiful.

She shared about her journey from idea to getting the first customer, “From childhood, I love grooming someone, give advice to them to make them comfortable, fit and beautiful. I worked for almost 6-7 years for MNC, after that I decided to start of my own. I have 6 sisters in my family. After fulfilling the needs of my family, I felt that I am ready now for my dream  She also added that “This has been my passion always so I developed myself first before coming in the industry.”

She gave her full time, learned and practiced everything before opening her salon. Her first customer was from Bollywood. In just these few months, the growth of her business has been significant. It has opened up doors I would have never dreamed.

Her successful mantra is consistency and proper planning. She shared that “work is always surprising. You have to be audible all time. You can’t say no to anything. You have to ask what you want. Your consistency can gain you anything. Passion pushed by your purpose for your business goals. Your purpose will be the “WHY” to keep you going on the days when your passion doesn’t carry you. It will help to keep you committed and consistent with your business goals”

She is the mother of six months old baby. She shared that “I give time to my baby by keeping my baby with me all the time so that the baby should feel comfortable his mother is with me. I have a special room for this.” It is a good way of easing off the stress.

She agreed that entrepreneurship and working women are important for India as a whole.  “In today’s world, women working after marriage is always given a surprise that oh, “you are working after marriage also, after baby also ”, she added. Working women contribute economically to the growth of the nation. Working women are self-dependent and decision maker. She shared that “ If women are working, they can develop more human and she can grow your passion likely.”

She shared her leadership style that “I always treat my staff as a friend and try to set an example for them rather than ordering them. I always make them comfortable and self-dependent. I give them the freedom to take their own decisions if I am not available.  ”

She believes that being women leader, women who manage to grow in the ecosystem should make the path easier for the ones after them. She adds that“ In this industry, many boys are there and people generally don’t trust women due to their family issues. People prefer a male while hiring a manager.” She has 70% of women in her salon.

In the end, she advised startups that hard work and patience are the key to success.
