Edtech platforms by Indian Entrepreneurs

One sector that has managed to sail against the tide in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic is Education Technology. In fact, the current generation of Edtech is growing stronger than ever. The education landscape has been redefined and digital has been the buzzword for entrepreneurs in the sector, who are ushering in an online education revolution. A few Indian entrepreneurs have introduced Edtech platforms for students pursuing education at different levels, meeting the requirement of each and making the process of learning as exciting and interactive as possible. 

Let’s take a look at four such Edtech platforms founded by Indian entrepreneurs.

Vedantu: One of the most popular EdTech platforms in the country, Vedantu was founded by IITian friends Vamsi Krishna, Pulkit Jain and Anand Prakash. Vedantu refers to itself as an "online tutoring company which enables students to learn and live with some of India's best-curated teachers". The platform boasts of having more than 500 teachers on board and a student base spanning 1000 cities from across 30 countries. The EdTech platform offers live online classes for both individuals as well as groups. Its mechanism thrives on two-way audio, video and whiteboarding tools. It caters to students from class 6 to class 12 and further helps in the preparation for competitive examinations.

Digital Aristotle: The Edtech platform founded by serial entrepreneur Mr Dev Roy, who was once the youngest Managing Director of Barclays Capital, is serving the needs of students, teachers as well as institutions with its plethora of offerings in the domain. Aristotle, an application launched by Digital Aristotle, is India's first social learning app, combining the power of Edtech and social networking. The app has a huge bank of User Generated Content and also lets students clarify their doubts instantly. Another offering by the platform is AssessEd, a platform specifically for conducting assessments. It has an exhaustive question bank across subjects, grades and boards for creating assessments, and furthermore it enables standardized evaluation and individualized remediation. Teachers can use the platform to check answer sheets with ease on tablets and laptops.

Eduauraa: The Edtech platform, which thrives to make premier quality education to reach every corner of the country at an affordable price, was founded by Mumbai-based entrepreneur Akanksha Chaturvedi. The app offers educational content for nine different boards, including CBSE and ICSE. The subjects being offered include Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology for students from class 6 to class 12. Their content aims to generate an active interest in learning with innovative and interactive methods. All their lessons are created in both English as well as Hindi. The platform also offers a course in spoken English. There are experienced teachers from some of the leading institutions on board to ensure the students get the best quality education.

Kutuki: Founded by young entrepreneurs Sneha Sundaram, an alumnus of London School of Economics, Bharath Bevinahally, a graduate of Indian School of Business, Kutuki caters to preschool kids with its bouquet of fun videos, rhymes, games and allied activities. Designed exclusively for Indian kids, the platform focuses a great deal on language, phonics, math and science. Their aim is to provide cognitive development along with social and life skills. Apart from educators, the platform has brought on board several musicians, artists and storytellers so that students can be provided with original rhymes, animations and illustrations. Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had lauded the app as part of AatmaNirbhar Bharat App Innovation Challenge.

Kyt: The Edtech platform, which boasts of being an online academy for extracurricular learning, was founded by former Uber chief Bhavik Rathod and his wife Tripti Ahuja. The various streams in which students can enroll themselves on the platform include yoga, chess, dance, vocals and reading. The Edtech claims to make a child learn to read English in just 24 sessions and further offers 12-week programmes on Hindustani as well as Western music. Besides, they organize workshops on bakery, magic, art and animation, among others. Anyone reaching 5 years of age can enroll at Kyt, which is designed by world class educators from around the world. To add to the interactivity, there are multiple intelligence tests in place that have been formulated by education consultants and teachers.
