Bajaj Allianz Life appoints Santanu Banerjee as its new Chief Human Resources Officer, effective from May 2020. He holds more than 18 years of experience, he has facilitated the building blocks of winning teams and established differentiated cultures.

Prior to joining Bajaj Allianz, Santanu was actively working as Executive VP and CHRO at Star Union Dai-ichi Life Insurance. He’s had the merits of previously working with companies like Hathway Cable & Datacom Ltd, Aditya Birla Health Insurance Company, IMRB International, Exide Life Insurance and Pantaloon, etc. In his 10 years long tenure with Aditya Birla Group, from 2008 to 2018, he managed various sectors of Birla Sun Life Insurance and was henceforth, the engineering force behind the set-up of Aditya Birla Health Insurance (ABHI).

Subsequent to his successful installation of ABHI, Banerjee was accredited for assembling a gifted pool of 1,700 representatives within a span of a year at Aditya Birla while also implementing vigorous HR frameworks. As a trained coach, he is a strong believer in mentoring people to bring out the best in them. After graduating from the University of Calcutta, he pursued an MBA in HR from the Army Institute of Management, Kolkata. The insurance sector has been the most dominating industry in his career.

Santanu Banerjee has been a figure of pioneering and success. An avid reader of literature, he is also a trained classical musician, who loves to play musical instruments in order to relax or de-stress.
